The Crystal Cathedral

If you've ever watched "The Hour of Power" on TV you've heard of the Crystal Cathedral. I new it was big, and it sure did look big, but for some reason or other it felt like my own home church in many ways. The order of worship is quite familiar, and hearing about the programs they have going on really made it feel more like a every week kind of church than a tourist attraction and TV show.

When we got out from the morning service we went on a tour of the Crystal Cathedral grounds which was very cool. We found out that they started with a Drive-In, and slowly moved to the way it is now. The coolest thing is that they still offer Drive-In services, where you can pull up tune the radio and watch the service on a screen in the parking lot.

Well that was a lot of fun, but when we got home the ceiling in the bathroom of our suite started leaking. After my Mom called down to the front desk, they moved us from a simple one floor suite to a two storey number with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a couch and chair and such. This was the type of room Mom was expecting originally, so she seems happier now, even though we're leaving tonight and have to be out of the suite this morning.

Any how, after we moved all our stuff upstairs to the second floor (having been on the first floor to begin with), we had to go right back out to Garden Grove and the Crystal Cathedral to see the free concert of Handel's Messiah. It was excellent, and even Mom liked it. (she's not big on classical music, or any music really).
